What is the IELTS test?

What are the IELTS exam questions?
The test consists of four main sections, as each section determines your level in the four basic skills of language practice, namely reading, listening, speaking and writing.
It is 30 minutes long and consists of 4 sections, each section consisting of 40 questions. English comprehension proficiency is tested by listening to audio pieces on a specific topic, and other general and various pieces.
Duration is 60 minutes, and it consists of 3 sections, each section consisting of 40 questions. You will be asked about a reading text, to measure your understanding of the text in detail, and whether you were able to understand the complex information contained in the text or not.
It is 60 minutes long and consists of two parts, through which your level of writing is revealed how you use the language in written expression in different situations, and your ability to adapt your written English in different topics. So, your sentence construction, your use of words, grammar, and conjunctions, will be evaluated.
Its duration ranges from 11 to 14 minutes, and it includes 3 parts. This test is the same for examinees both for academic purposes and for IELTS General Exam. It includes an interview covering a wide range of topics. And you will have to talk about personal topics, and talk about a specific topic, as you express and discuss it with the experimenter.
It is worth noting that the Listening and Speaking sections of the IELTS tests are the same as the parts in the Academic and General tests, but the Reading and Writing tests are designed to measure academic skills or general skills.

How much is the IELTS test fee?
Test fees do not differ between one emirate and another in the UAE. The cost is the same whether the exam is general or academic. Mostly, the test fees range from 1300-1400 AED or the equivalent in international currencies for the paper-based test and the computer-based test.
What scores do you need for IELTS?
Universities in the UAE usually ask for grades ranging between 5, 6, and 7 and certainly vary according to the specialization and stage of study.
If you aim to study at a university in America, Canada, Britain, or Australia, you will need to get between 6.30-7.30 in IELTS. But if you want to study medicine, you will need a score higher than 7.30, and these scores certainly vary according to the university.

IELTS Listening
This is the first section of the IELTS exam. In this student listens to a recording and writes answers that are given on the question sheet. The IELTS listening test is divided into four sections. Students hear each section one time only. The total time for the test is 40 minutes. The audio or recording is about 30 minutes, afterwards extra ten minutes are given to transfer answers to an answer sheet. There are 40 questions altogether as each section has 10 questions.
In general, there are mainly 6 types of questions in the listening section.
This section has been designed to test. The English Comprehension skills of candidates, whether a student is able to understand the piece of information or successfully answer questions. The listening scores are out of 40 and are calculated as per the correct answer number. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The maximum word limit for an answer is three words or a number. Sometimes the demand of the answer is two words or one word. In multiple choice questions candidates need to write only the option of correct answer such as [A, B, C, and D]. They are not required to write the full option.
